Eritrean Dishes

Arosto = Roast meat, usually beef

Arekee = A highly alcoholic drink. Same color as gin

Alicha hamlee = Mixed curried vegetables with carrots, cabbage, potatoes, etc in a mild curry and spices

Bamya = Okra with tomatoes, herbs, and spices


Capretto = Goad, usually served like a rack of lamb

Fool = A sort of chick beans sauce

Fritata = Scrambled eggs with onions, peppers

Hamlee = Cooked greens

Kicha = Pancaka, unleavened bread

Kolo = Roasted grain (e.g. Peas, barley, wheat)

Myes = A drink made of honey, yellow color, usually sweet, but alcholic

Shiro = Sauce made of chick peas

Swa = A drink made of sorghum, millet, or other grains

Taita = Thinner than pancake made of grain's dough

Timtimo = Sauce made of lentils

Zegnee = Stew (meat with berbere)
